What is mineradio-lx-music?

Mineradio is a Windows desktop music player, playlist tool, and music visualization app. It can play local music files on its own, and also supports importing playlists, showing lyrics on the desktop, custom wallpapers, and visual effects. This is an unofficial fork of an earlier project called Mineradio, itself built on a project named LX Music, and it is not affiliated with any official music platform. The app does not come with any built in music source, and it does not bundle or distribute copyrighted songs, lyrics, album covers, or wallpapers. Anyone importing playlists, compatible source scripts, or local files is expected to only use content they already have rights to and to follow the relevant platform's terms of service. The README is explicit that the project must not be used for pirated music, unauthorized scraping, bypassing platform restrictions, or distributing content that infringes copyright, and that responsibility for imported content sits with the user. Main features include local music playback and library management, custom and folder based playlists, a home screen with recently played and recommended tracks, sixteen radio style modes that build automatic playback queues, cross platform playlist and chart importing, local and online lyrics with translation and desktop lyric display, particle based visualization and a 3D lyric stage, custom wallpapers including Wallpaper Engine support, an equalizer with sound presets, and scene recording with GIF preview. To develop it, you install dependencies and run it with npm, and to build the Windows installer you use a build command that downloads specific pinned versions of FFmpeg and RePKG from their official sources, checking their file hashes before including them. Building the macOS version requires building on a Mac. The project is a modified continuation of an earlier GPL 3.0 licensed project, and this fork also stays under the GNU General Public License version 3.0.
