Awesome Claude Design is a curated collection of 68 ready-to-use DESIGN.md files that describe the visual style of well-known products and brands, in a format built for AI design tools to use directly, not just for humans to read. A DESIGN.md file is a single markdown document that captures a brand's colors, type, spacing, component styles, and the reasoning behind those choices. The idea, credited to Google Stitch and expanded by the getdesign.md project, is to keep the token, the rule, and the "why" together in one place. A Figma export shows what to use but not why, and a brand guideline PDF is written for people, not machines. DESIGN.md sits in between: specific enough for an AI agent to make consistent decisions, with enough context to handle cases the file never directly covered. These files are meant to be used with Claude Design, Anthropic's design focused workspace. A user uploads a DESIGN.md file and Claude Design turns it into a starter design system: CSS variables for colors and type, preview cards, a working HTML UI kit that applies the system to a real page layout, and a portable skill file for reuse in future projects. One markdown file goes in, and a production ready design package comes out. The collection spans categories including AI platforms, developer tools, databases, and productivity software, with design systems inspired by companies like Vercel, Supabase, Figma, and Notion, among many others. Each entry links to a preview page so a user can inspect the system before downloading it. This project is aimed at people building software with AI tools who want a real design identity to start from instead of a blank page. It requires no coding to use since the files are just markdown, though getting the most out of the generated output benefits from access to Claude Design itself. The full README is longer than what was shown.
