So what is it?

BQ Skill is an agent skill for Claude and similar AI coding assistants that helps you prepare for behavioral job interviews, the kind where an interviewer asks you to describe a time you handled a difficult situation. Rather than giving you a canned answer to memorize, it interviews you step by step about your real past experiences and helps you shape each one into a structured story you can reuse across many different questions. Each story gets organized using the STAR or CAR format, common ways of structuring a situation, task, action, and result, and is tagged with the underlying skill it demonstrates, such as taking ownership or handling ambiguity. Stories are saved in both English and Chinese, so the same piece of work stays useful for interviews in either language. Once a story is in your bank, the skill can pull it back out and match it to a new question later instead of making you dig through your memory again from scratch. Beyond building the story bank, the skill can also polish an answer you already have by pointing out structural problems like a situation description that runs on too long, overusing the word we instead of I, or missing a clear measurable result, and then rewriting it. It can run a mock interview one question at a time in the style of a specific company, giving feedback as you go. A more advanced mode reads a job description alongside your resume and reverse engineers a list of twenty likely interview questions for that specific role, then builds a STAR shaped prep template for each one, complete with an editable draft answer. To use it, you install the skill folder into your AI assistant and simply describe what you want, such as asking it to help you prepare for behavioral interviews or to mine a new story for your bank. The skill always checks your existing story bank before starting a fresh round of questioning, and it treats mining as an ongoing conversation rather than a fixed form to fill out. It never invents details on your behalf, every fact and number in a story is meant to come from and be confirmed by you. The project is released under the MIT license and is part of a larger three piece job hunting bundle that also covers reading job descriptions and building resumes.
