What is vikunja-task-hub?

Vikunja Task Hub is a custom card for Home Assistant, the home automation platform, that lets you manage tasks and projects from Vikunja, a separate task and project management tool, right inside your Home Assistant dashboard. Instead of switching to another app, you see your projects, categories, and tasks in a card built for that dashboard. The card shows every project and task that your configured Vikunja account can access. You can switch between projects or categories, search task titles as you type, and keep finished tasks tucked away in a separate section so they do not clutter your view. Selecting several tasks at once lets you move them to a new or existing project, add or remove categories, mark them complete or active, or delete them after a confirmation step. Opening a single task gives you a fuller editor. You can write descriptions with Markdown formatting, preview them before saving, set due dates, and set up recurring schedules such as daily, weekly, monthly, or custom intervals. Repeating tasks show a small marker in the list so you can tell them apart from one time tasks. You can also attach files to a task, including photos or videos captured directly from a supported device, with a documented 20 megabyte limit per file. To use it you need a working Home Assistant setup that supports custom integrations and dashboard resources, plus a reachable Vikunja instance with its API turned on and an API token with the right permissions. Installation happens through HACS, a community add on manager for Home Assistant, or by copying the files into your configuration folder manually and restarting Home Assistant. The interface is translated into more than two dozen languages and follows whatever language Home Assistant itself is set to, falling back to English if a translation is not available yet. This is an independent community project, not something built or endorsed by the Vikunja or Home Assistant teams.
