What is preap?

Preap is a dark visual theme for Sublime Text, the popular code editor. It changes how the editor looks, the colors of your code, the style of the sidebar, the file tabs, and the overall interface, giving everything a clean, minimal, dark appearance. It started as a tweaked version of another theme called Predawn and grew into its own project. Beyond just colors, the theme includes several customization options. You can adjust the height of your file tabs (small or medium), shrink the Find and Replace panel, and change the vertical spacing of the sidebar to large or extra large. There's also a dedicated color scheme for Markdown files that centers text in the window and wraps lines at 80 characters, making writing prose in the editor feel more like a focused writing app. File icons are supported but require a specific development build of Sublime Text. This would appeal to developers or writers who spend hours in Sublime Text and want a more comfortable, visually polished environment. For example, someone writing documentation in Markdown could use the special Markdown mode for a distraction-free view, while a developer working across many files might appreciate the adjustable tabs and sidebar spacing to maximize screen space. Installing it is straightforward through Package Control, Sublime Text's built-in package manager. Once installed, you activate it by pointing your preferences file to the theme files and restarting the editor. One quirk worth noting: if you also use SublimeLinter (a code-checking tool), the color scheme may fail to load automatically, so you'll need to select it manually from the Preferences menu instead.
