Requires Claude Cowork or Claude Code to install the skill file, plus a dependency check and a 5-20 minute onboarding process.
Open to Work is a job-search assistant built as a skill for Claude Cowork or Claude Code. It automates the repetitive parts of looking for a job: scanning job boards, tailoring your resume, writing cover letters, filling out applications, and tracking where you have applied. The idea is that you stay involved in decisions while the skill handles the busywork. To get started, you download a skill file, install it in Claude, run a dependency check, and type "Start my job search." The system then walks you through onboarding, which takes about five minutes if you upload an existing resume or around twenty minutes if you answer a guided interview. Either way, it builds a personal library of your profile, resume, writing voice, and key facts. This library lives as files on your own machine. When you paste a job description, the skill tailors your resume to that role without inventing experience you do not have. It generates a one-page document and PDF, then runs an ATS scoring pass twice to check how well the resume parses for automated screening systems. It also writes a cover letter in your captured voice and can answer open-ended application questions, making sure your stories do not repeat across documents. The scanner runs twice daily by default across several remote-job aggregators and an optional company watchlist. It scores jobs in two stages, first filtering out obvious mismatches at a glance, then fetching the full description only for promising leads. Results are deduplicated so you never see the same posting twice. You get a ranked shortlist and can send any listing straight into the resume tailoring pipeline. After you apply, the skill helps with interview preparation, mock interviews, and transcript-based debriefs. It can help you find and contact recruiters, though it never sends anything automatically. A standing ledger tracks every application, outreach, and interview, so asking "what's still open?" gives you a real answer. All personal data stays in your local files and is not embedded in the distributable skill itself.
