This repository is a skill suite built for PhD students in business schools who are working on academic research, specifically in the areas of Information Systems, Quantitative Marketing, and Operations Management. It is based on an analysis of more than a thousand papers published in top journals such as ISR and JMIS, and it is meant to be installed as a set of skills inside a coding assistant like OpenCode. The suite is made up of six modules that map to different stages of writing a research paper. One module evaluates whether a research idea is strong enough to pursue and helps outline a paper. Another helps a researcher read and critically assess academic papers, including special checks for papers involving large language models. A third module supports the empirical side of research, covering experiment design, causal identification methods such as difference in differences or instrumental variables, and statistical testing. A fourth module focuses on writing the actual paper, including introductions, theory sections, and discussion sections, drawing on patterns found in the analyzed papers. A fifth module works as a pre-submission check, scanning for logical issues, weak arguments, and language that reads as generated by AI. The sixth module handles formatting, including LaTeX typesetting and chart design following the visual style of major journals. The modules are meant to be used together across the lifecycle of a paper, from choosing a topic through submission and formatting. Installation is done by copying the skills folder into a coding assistant's configuration directory. The project is released under the MIT license, which means it can be used freely for both academic and commercial purposes. It is aimed at business school PhD students working in these three research areas, so it may be of limited use to people outside that specific audience.
