What is minui-simple-mode-pak?

MinUI's Simple Mode is a feature that simplifies the handheld's interface by hiding the Tools folder and replacing the Options menu in-game with a simpler Reset option. It is designed for kids or anyone who might get confused by extra settings. The minui-simple-mode.pak project is a small app that makes it easy to toggle this mode on and off directly from the device, rather than having to manually edit files on a computer. MinUI is a custom software you can install on retro gaming handhelds to replace their default operating system. Normally, turning on Simple Mode requires connecting the device's SD card to a computer and creating a specific empty file in a specific folder. This app automates that process. Once installed, you just open the Tools menu on your device, select Simple Mode, and confirm. To turn it off, you hold the R2 button while the device boots up. This is useful for anyone who shares a retro gaming handheld with children or less tech-savvy family members.
