Requires Foundry Virtual Tabletop installed to use the module, standalone images need no software at all.

The module's code is free to use under MIT, but the map artwork is Paizo-owned content that cannot be sold or charged for.

So what is it?

This project is a module for Foundry Virtual Tabletop, a program game masters use to run tabletop role playing game sessions online, that adds 297 painted map scenes of Golarion, the fantasy world used in the Pathfinder tabletop game. The set covers everything from the full world map and continents down to individual towns and settlements, all drawn in a consistent illustrated fantasy atlas style. Each map is built to be usable during actual play rather than just decorative. Region and nation maps include correctly scaled hex grids for tracking travel distances in miles, while city and town maps are gridless. Settlements and points of interest are marked with pins that a game master can click to open a linked journal entry, which in turn links out to the relevant article on PathfinderWiki, an online community reference for the setting. The art style changes by culture and region, so cities in different parts of the world look visually distinct from one another, matching how they are described in the source material. The map geography itself comes from the PathfinderWiki mapping project, an existing community effort that maintains a canonical map of coastlines, rivers, roads, and settlement locations, so this project's maps line up with that established reference rather than inventing new geography. Installing it inside Foundry is done by pasting a manifest URL into the module installer, then running a one time import command to load every map and journal into a game world. People who do not use Foundry at all can instead download a standalone zip of all 297 map images without pins or grids, for use in any other virtual tabletop or as printable images. The project's own code is released under the MIT License, but the map artwork itself uses Paizo's intellectual property under their Community Use Policy, which explicitly forbids charging money for access to it. The author notes the maps are partly AI generated and states this content will never be used to train AI models or turned into a paid product.
