What is juicer?

Juicer is a free, open source Mac app aimed at developers and power users who want a single tool for cleaning up and managing their system instead of juggling many separate utilities. It runs entirely on your own machine and bundles together things like a package manager, a disk space visualizer, an app uninstaller, a clipboard history manager, network and security tools, and various developer utilities into one native application. The app is organized into nine focused sections. One section acts as a package manager for Homebrew, letting you install and manage both graphical and command line software. Another shows real time system information like processor and memory usage, battery health, and temperature. A networking section covers Wi-Fi scanning, speed testing, open port checking, and DNS settings. A security section audits app permissions, checks FileVault disk encryption status, and scans for keyloggers. A storage section includes a visual disk space browser, a cleaner for developer build caches, and tools to find large or duplicate files. There is also a dedicated developer section for switching software development kit versions and running custom scripts, a system configuration section for uninstalling apps and editing background services, and a general utilities section with things like a window arranger and a clipboard manager. Among its specific features, the uninstaller can drag and drop any application to also remove its leftover caches, settings files, and helper programs, and a separate tool finds files left behind by applications that were already deleted through other means. The app can also run custom shell scripts you provide, showing their output live, and it can switch which local DNS profile is active, including an option to apply a well known ad blocking hosts file. Juicer is written in Swift using SwiftUI and requires macOS 14 or newer. It can be installed through Homebrew or by downloading a release directly from GitHub, and its code is reviewed continuously by automated tools including CodeQL and Dependabot. The project is released under the MIT license.
