What is githubgraduation-2022?

GitHub Graduation-2022 is a digital yearbook where graduating students can add their profiles and get recognized in an online graduation ceremony. By submitting your information to the project, you join the "GitHub Class of 2022" and become eligible to receive custom physical swag in the mail, including a holographic developer trading card, stickers, and a letter. It's essentially a community celebration for students who use GitHub and are finishing their studies that year. To join, you first fill out a shipping form on Airtable with your mailing address. Then, you add your profile details to the yearbook by creating a folder with your username and writing a short file with your name, institution, a senior quote, and GitHub handle. After submitting that change for review, the GitHub Education team checks it and merges it into the project if everything looks correct. The first 7,500 accepted submissions get the physical swag. This project is aimed at students graduating in 2022, whether from a bootcamp, high school, bachelor's, master's, or PhD program. You'd use it if you were part of the GitHub Student Developer Pack and wanted to celebrate completing your studies alongside other developers worldwide. It's a fun way to mark the milestone, get some developer-themed collectibles, and optionally share your graduation story for a chance to be featured on GitHub's social channels. The event itself culminated in a live graduation broadcast on Twitch on June 11, 2022. The trading cards are personalized using public GitHub profile information, so your profile picture and bio at the time of submission directly determined how your card looked.
